APPLICATIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED
Applications for the BA Cityflyer First Officer Placement Programme, a unique training and sponsorship opportunity specifically designed for modular trained CPL/IR holders, has now closed.
Kura will be providing selection and training in partnership with the airline for the programme which is designed to progress the successful applicant towards a full time, permanent role as a First Officer.
Captain Dave Cox, BA Cityflyer Fleet Manager, said, “BA Cityflyer is committed to employing and supporting modular trained pilots, and so created a new placement and sponsorship opportunity specifically designed for a modular trained pilot from the CPL/IR stage of their career.
“Having recently employed graduates from Kura Aviation, we know that industry best practice is at the heart of Kura’s business. Their BESTPILOT training delivers an airline-readiness standardisation programme for modular trained pilots and produces high quality First Officer candidates. For this reason we have chosen Kura as our partner and are delighted to be working with them to launch this new opportunity for a modular trained pilot to join BA Cityflyer.”
The intention is that the new scheme will be a rolling programme, with the first successful applicant beginning employment with BA Cityflyer on 1 December as a salaried Navigation, Weights and Performance Officer for a two year period before progressing through Kura’s BESTPILOT programme and Type and Line training on the Embraer 170/190 fleet, all paid for by the airline.
Isobel Hall, Kura’s Managing Director, says, “This unique programme reflects the strong value that both Kura and BA Cityflyer place on the skills and qualities that modular trained pilots bring to the industry.”
Future recruitment dates for the scheme have not yet been announced.
