With a family history of aviation, becoming a pilot was a natural step for me as a teenager.
Having completed my PPL as soon as I could, I joined an integrated course and graduated in 2009. Unfortunately, with the market being as it was at that point, jobs were scarce and I attempted unsuccessfully to secure a position for a number of years after.
I rather gave up on the dream of securing an airline job after a few years and settled in to teaching maths, all the while knowing it very much wasn’t what I was doing. Having known Isobel and Philip from a former life, I was intrigued to hear of Kura and what they aimed to do. Putting a lot of faith in their then very new venture, I gave it one last go.
I couldn’t be more glad that I did. The training and support at Kura really has been second to none and I feel like I’ve gained a second family in many ways. I was put forward for Flybe interview earlier this year with less than 24 hours’ notice and am now flying the Dash. It really is a dream come true and I couldn’t have done it without Kura’s support, mentoring and preparation.
