The first I heard of KURA was when a colleague sent me the advert for the First Officer Placement Programme back in 2015. Having qualified in 2010 and faced so many obstacles in getting that first airline job, it was good to hear of a company that supported people no matter how long out of training they were.
I was impressed with KURA from the start, after the first stage of assessment when Philip spent time discussing what airlines were looking for, to the interview advice and tips from Isobel the day before my final BA CityFlyer interview, I already felt like a stronger candidate than when the process started. I certainly tried to implement everything during the interviews and it definitely worked, amazingly being told I’d been successful!
During my time in the office at BA CityFlyer, KURA always kept in touch to see how I was doing, and I always felt supported.
When it came to doing the KURA BESTPILOT course, I was impressed again. The knowledge of the instructors and current relevant experience within the industry showed and was head and shoulders above any other MCC/JOC I’ve done.
I definitely feel that I am a better pilot as a result of the KURA BESTPILOT course and a scheme that was only possible because of the close relationship between BA CityFlyer and KURA.
