Flying is all I ever wanted to do and I initially chose an integrated training school as that seemed the best way to get a job as a pilot, but it turned out to be not quite as straightforward as that.
After 3 years of applying for airline jobs, I decided to enrol onto BESTPILOT. Kura taught us how things actually work within airlines. A newly-graduated student pilot does not always have the full picture of what an airline job actually includes – I didn’t – but after the BESTPILOT programme you know what your roles and responsibilities will be. In flight training you learn to fly, but flying is just one part of the job now, and Kura did an amazing job to fill in the missing gaps.
I thought that the interview training and preparation I received for my BA Cityflyer airline selection was outstanding. Before BESTPILOT I had been on several interview training courses, but Kura’s excelled, by far.
It’s hard to describe in words how it felt to secure my first airline pilot job. After 15 years of hard work and dedication, finally achieving your goal feels unbelievable.
Now I am flying, every day is a special day. Every flight, you have the opportunity to improve yourself and work on your skills. You fly with new people every day and even before you meet them you know they will be great colleagues. The sense of excitement and privilege about being an airline pilot will never fade.
