Growing up with a dad who works as a naval aviator I have always been in contact with aviation.
This set the baseline for all the decisions I made leading to becoming an airline pilot and led to me studying the required subjects in high school and combining a Bachelor of Aviation Engineering with an Integrated ATPL at Oxford Aviation Academy.
After finishing both, the hunt for that dream job began. I thought that having that little extra knowledge in the form of a technical degree would help get me through an airline interview. But I was not ready at all. I had heard colleagues speak about the success that KURA enjoyed in helping competent pilots find placements at airlines and I so decided, if I was not able to get a job a year after training, I would join KURA. It was the best decision I have ever made!
During the courses that you follow at KURA you learn about the role, responsibilities and competencies of a First Officer; and how to use this knowledge to express yourself in the most appropriate manner during an interview, and in work. But for me personally KURA was more about getting my confidence back. The professional team at KURA quickly realised what was necessary to get me back on track. This gave me the extra boost of confidence in pilot self and my pilot competencies.
About a month after finishing KURA I was offered an interview slot with Norwegian. During that interview I was able to express myself better than ever before and I am now very thankful to be able to fly with such a rapidly growing and exciting airline.
