After I finished my integrated flight training, it was very tough to find work in the airline industry as a low hour pilot. I started working in the operational side along with many other future pilots. I still remember when, during a night shift, a colleague told me about KURA Aviation.
His story intrigued me to look for more information regarding their program and as I did so I heard lots of amazing stories from other colleagues who had attended the BESTPILOT course.
After 2 years without any interviews and in a market with many other pilots waiting for the chance of their life, I knew something had to happen to improve my knowledge and chances to get my dream job.
Once I completed assessment and Pilot Fundamentals I knew that I had started to really understand how an airline works. After Pilot Fundamentals I completed Kura’s 40-hour sim course, Airline Jet Transition, which was perfect for my grading at DHL Air and the type rating on the Boeing 757/767.
The final part of BESTPILOT is Professional Pilot Development which focusses on interview preparation and airline selection. It is a tough week, but afterwards I knew my strong points and where to improve. This was the best help I could have had to successfully pass the assessment at DHL Air.
I am very grateful to the KURA Aviation team for helping me realize my dream job. Flying on the 757 within and outside Europe is truly amazing. Once you go through the Kura course you will learn a lot; and you will feel part of the KURA family from your first day.
Thanks again Isobel & Philip!
