Coming out of CPL/IR training I was surprised with the distinct lack of preparation for the airline industry.
That gap in training was perfectly filled by Kura. Following the first week of Pilot Fundamentals I had a clear understanding of what would be expected of me when I sat in the right hand seat of an airliner.
The Airline Jet Transition (AJT) is so much more than an MCC/JOC. ‘Type Rating Preparation’ is probably the best way to explain it. When I started type rating on the B737, I felt I had a head start. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot to learn, but thanks to Kura it wasn’t as huge a learning curve as it could have been!
Through each stage of training, the whole Kura team help you develop. They challenge you to think about all your experiences so that you can effectively present yourself to an airline in those few short minutes you have to demonstrate your suitability for the role. All the feedback and development points are tailored to you. They really do care about each individual.
I would have never thought I could go into an assessment with such confidence in my ability. It was thanks to Kura that when the opportunity at Ryanair was offered, it wasn’t a case of having to go and prepare, I was already ready.
